Arenado to the Cardinals

A devastating trade for the Colorado Rockies has been undergoing. Nolan Arenado, an eight-time golden glover winner, and previous third baseman for the Rockies has been traded to the Cardinals. He is categorized as one of the best players in baseball right now and Rockies fans throughout the state of Colorado has been sent into an uproar about this trade. He was traded for Austin Gomber and four minor league prospects, along with the Rockies paying $50 million for the trade. This is the minor detail that trips me up. Why were the Rockies so eager to get rid of Arenado when he has brought nothing but positive outcomes to the team and franchise? I’m extremely interested to see where the Rockies franchise is going to go considering they have this gap in their team without Arenado. Leading the team will be set up for Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story after a trade like this went down. Personally, it is going to be unordinary seeing Arenado at third base in a Rockies uniform.
